Oldfield School Association

What is the Oldfield School Association (OSA)?

The OSA is the Parent Staff Association at Oldfield School. We are a group of parents and staff of Oldfield School who raise money for the school, also providing a platform for closer lins between parents and the school. The money is used to purchase items that are not covered by the school budget but which enhance the opportunities given to the students. This could involve funding a piece of classroom equipment eg musical instruments, cooking utensils, or subsidising a school trip organised by a specific department.

What Do We Do?

We raise money by organizing events for parents, staff and students during which everyone can get to know each other in a relaxed and informal environment and hopefully have some fun at the same time. Our quiz nights, held in October and March each year are an example of this. The evenings provide much entertainment, with not a small amount of healthy competition. We also provide refreshments at a variety of evening events held by the school, for example the Year 7 Homework Evening each October and the Key Stage Celebration Evenings in the summer. We also hold a Christmas Fair each year in December. This year it will take place on Saturday 5th December 2015 at 10am at the school.

Another event, popular with students and parents, is the Battle of the Bands which was first launched in 2013. Student bands compete against one another to win a trophy and prize, receiving feedback from a panel of judges. The event is organised in conjunction with the music department and with the help of staff from various faculties.
