Welcome to the Sport and PE department.

Key Stage 3 PE Curriculum

During Years 7, 8 and 9 all students will cover:

  • Gymnastics
  • Hockey
  • Tennis
  • Rounders
  • Orienteering
  • Fitness
  • Netball
  • Football
  • Athletics
  • Rugby
  • Judo
  • Badmintion
  • Fundamentals

Key Stage 4 PE Curriculum

All students have one hour of core PE per week in KS4, in Year 10 students will also be offered the chance to develop their leadership skills and complete the Level 1 Sports Leaders Award and then practice and develop these skills further through leadership experiences with students in KS3 and students from local primary schools.
During Years 10 and 11 students can also study

  • GCSE Physical Education – We currently follow the GCSE Edexcel course.

Key Stage 5 PE Curriculum

During Years 12 and 13 students can study :

  • A-Level Physical Education – we currently follow the OCR course.
  • Students also take part in one hour of non examined practical PE.

Sports Council

We are also very lucky to have a Sports Council. The Sports Council meet once or twice a term and discuss a variety of different issues relating to sport at Oldfield, all meetings are chaired by the School Sports Captain from the 6th form. This year Katie Ireland has been selected to run and lead this exciting change to the Sports Council.
